TIDE Forest School For Girls
A collaboration between nature & me and Creative Roots
TIDE is a forest school and girls mentoring program that supports girls between 6 -11 in South Cornwall.
TIDE is a space for girls to connect to nature, community, to be curious, play, learn and to take risks in a safe and supportive environment.
Through fun, practical and creative activities it is our aim to build self-esteem, independence, emotional resilience, co-operation, autonomy, motivation and a sense of connection and belonging in nature. TIDE sessions are a space for girls to find their voice in a a non-judgmental, non-directive and inclusive space which is youth led, holistic and experiential.
We run monthly sessions on the third Saturday of each month.
Set up by Naomi Hannam of Creative roots (www.creativeroots.earth) and Victoria Dufour-cox (www.natureandme.com). We are both level 3 forest school leaders, outdoor first aiders and most importantly creative facilitators with a passion for connecting people to nature, building community and supporting young women to thrive.
In a world where youth mental health is at crisis and where there is huge disconnect from our bodies and nature we thought it would be good to create a space for girls to get together, make fire, climb trees, use tools, cook and explore in a safe and held environment.
These sessions happen monthly throughout the year with extra sessions during school holidays .
Time to make fire, climb trees, make, explore, forage & cook a delicious lunch together. A year long program of forest school for girls. The sessions take place in beautiful woods near the Helford tidal estuary where we can explore, make camp and craft.
Sessions run from 10 - 3 and cost £32.50 per session or £120 for a bock of 4.
